While guests toasted Vietnam Airlines success, fare-paying passengers checked in for the return London to Hanoi flights on board Vietnam Airline's blue and gold liveried Boeing 777-200ER, due to depart at midday for the 11h40m non-stop service.
The new London to Hanoi flights is now operating four times weekly from Gatwick North Terminal; twice to Vietnam's capital, Hanoi, and twice to the largest commercial centre, Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon).
